"Sometimes your best is enough. And sometimes it's nowhere near."

Everything We Didn't Say was my first book of the year and it did not disappoint. This was a fun, twisty mystery with many of my favorite things: small town secrets, family drama, and a propulsive dual timeline alternating every chapter.

The main character, Juniper Baker, is a librarian putting her research skills to use as she digs into the unsolved murder of her family's neighbors fourteen years ago. Seeking the truth both about

This book was OK, it could have been shorter. There was so much unnecessary information and the beginning was so slow. Not sure how I feel about the ending. Definitely did not guess who the killer was , so that was something, also wouldn't have guessed the motive. It was something completely different to what was discussed 90% of the time on the book.
I also felt like some plot lines were just discarded, like Juniper's relationship with her daughter, so everything just magically improved when sh

Happy belated pub day to Everything We Didn't Say! Thank you to Atria Books for my ARC.

Pub date: November 2, BOTM early release in October

In one sentence: After her brother was accused of murder, June left her small town and vowed never to return; can she figure out the truth 14 years later?

I love small town mysteries and family dramas, so I was really excited to read this book. I loved the dual timelines of past and present - there's so much more drama in June's backstory than just the murder.

I started this one several times and had trouble getting into it. Then about a third of the way it finally picked up and I was hooked. Good twists and turns, lots of them actually.

When i first got this book it was because I figured it’s a murder mystery my favorite. About a women Junebug who goes back home to try to reunite with her teenage daughter Willa who her family was raising. But she has to come to grips with her past and the murders of her neighbors the Murphy, knowing her brother Jonathan was innocent though everyone in Jericho, Idaho thought he was guilty. Through this book you get flashbacks of that summer and what led up to the murders and what is going on cur ...more

This book kept me engaged throughout. The ending felt rushed, but I did like how the story concluded.

DNF

Didn't take long to decide to not finish this. Two poisoned animals within the first 100 pages, slow character development, slow plot.

I haven't put a book down before I was finished in YEARS but here we are. I'm honestly even going to remove this authors others from my tbr. Disappointing to say the least.
