This book is a breath of fresh air and a dynamite explosion all in one. The world-building is phenomenal. From the ancient suburbs of Cairo to the great city of Daevabad, and even beyond in the places we have yet to go, the culture, languages, and politics have their own life.

I really enjoyed the original story line. I thought the characters, while a little undeveloped, had so much potential. I really look forward to see where this story is going.

This book was all the works. Fantasy + Mythology + Magic + Romance. It was a great read. By reading the synopsis I kept being attracted to it, but was putting off reading it to read other books on my TBR list. So glad I finally made time for this one.

I've been in a real mood for a solid fantasy book this year, and I just found it! From start to finish, I followed Nahri (a con artist and thief by trade), Dara (a daeva warrior Nahri accidentally summons), and Ali (a dijnn prince) with my undivided attention.
