Let me preface this by saying that this book pleased my ears and I did look forward to listening to it. So... it was fine. Hence the three stars.
But man, did some of these tropes kill me. Something happens between you at 19 years old, and you go on to NOT TALK ABOUT IT for another 10 years? And you don't expect it to blow up in your face? Ok.
Miscommunication is my least favorite trope, so this one was just not my fave. ...more

After Maddie’s brother passed away, his will specifies the eight locations he would like his ashes spread which ends up being the eight states that he had left to visit. One catch is that Maddie must go on the trip with Dom, her brother’s best friend who broke Maddie’s heart during college.
The main characters work through a lot of grief in this book, but it was also beautiful how they celebrated Josh throughout. I loved all of the travel experiences too! Took a little too long to get to the talk ...more

Mostly I really liked this one. However, I never could really connect with the fmc. I realize that she has gone through/is going through some tough stuff, but I just felt like she was kind of unlikeable even in spite of all that. I really did love the whole concept and I thought it was really original.
