This is well-written, feminist, and sort of fun, but also made me cringe a lot and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s too modern/trendy for me. Like I want to watch TikToks about books, but I don’t want to read books about making TikToks.

I’m wondering if I read a different book than the publisher and other reviewers because I found this book much less humorous and much more heartbreaking than expected. Yes, there are many funny parts, but they are all shadowed by the grim reality of Margo’s current life situations. Margo and Jinx were such flawed yet deeply nuanced characters that I grew to love early on.
