I’ve been looking forward to reading this and it was worth the wait. There were many topics that appealed to me in the story. Prohibition, 1920’s rural Virginia, family scandals, and a strong female protagonist make up the main part of the story.

I thought the story was just kind of a rambling tale of a family that had a lot of problems and secrets during a time when a lot of families probably had the same issues. Not sure what I was supposed to get out of it but I think I must have missed it.
