FINALLY I have my hands on this long awaited sequel to Ninth House, one of my favorite books!! After reading Ninth House when it was released, I became so obsessed with this story and the characters that I would literally watch interviews of Leigh Bardugo talking about her writing process for the book for hours. Obviously I was excited to see what happens next in this world by picking up Ninth House.

While I loved this story, it just didn’t hit the same as reading Ninth House the first time. I d

Took me some time to get into, much like Ninth House, but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. Another twisty, interesting dive into Alex Stern’s world. Can’t wait to see what journey awaits us in the next one!

Since I read the first book of this series, the Ninth House, about 3 years ago, i had trouble remembering the characters and plot. I did read an online recap but it was superficial level and took me awhile to get back into it. I struggled a bit with the first half but really enjoyed the second half once I figured out what was going on.

The mystical artifacts and potions are so cool and some of the magical abilities are like nothing I've read (I'm fairly new to this genre though). Very much looking forward to the next installment!! ...more

This book had me intrigued for the first part, but then I just got confused and started losing track of what was going on. Compared to how I felt this far in when listening to The Ninth House, this was disappointing.

Top tier character work and elements of found “f-d up” family. Decadent prose combine to create a dark atmospheric return to the underbelly of Yale.
