Thoughts: I knew January would be a fantasy-filled month, so after finishing my last (more philosophical) book, I wanted to dive into something a bit less heavy and more action-packed. And this book delivered. Once I got the hang of who was what (in large part thanks to the glossary in the back of the book), I absolutely devoured this book. I sat through two high school basketball games and read the whole time.

Wow, what a journey! I loved the world building and the descriptive nature of the writing. At first I was intimidated by the length of the book, but I flew right through it and can't wait to get to the second one. The glossary at the end was helpful to keep track of who was who, but might have been more helpful in the beginning. I happened across it by accident about halfway through.

Holy F**** S**** are you kidding me?!? I have to wait a whole year for the sequel?!?? THIS WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR—- MAYBE EVEN MY LIFE, how will I ever find another book as amazing as this one?!?!? I was not ready to leave that universe, I feel I was ripped away far too soon and now a whole year to re-enter it? Ughhbb!!!
