A must read book. So intriguing, such depth and so profound. This author had such a knack with words that I was able to see, smell and feel Pi's experiences. It got me up in the morning which is my idea of a 5 star book. Couldn't put it down. Due to the nature of survival there is much raw brutality and that makes it a bit difficult to experience at times but it wouldn't be the masterpiece that it is without it. One of the best books I have ever read.

Well, I am a bit torn on this book. I loved it, in the sense that I looked forward to reading it every day. Beautifully written, detailed and poignant. Pi and Richard Parker were an unlikely duo with an odd symbiotic relationship.
The ending was so unexpected..but here is where my living in "literalville" brought my rating down a notch. I will say no more, as not to spoil the story for anyone.
