Vincent Van Gogh, tortured, brilliant, compassionate.
A misunderstood boy, a patient in a madhouse, a man with creativity before his time.
He just wanted to be remembered.
Vincent's last months told by Dr. Paul Gauchet, his friend and doctor. I was transported back to France in late 1800's. I could see the village, smell the paint and feel the pain of the artist and the doctor.
Beautifully written.

How can one love something so heartbreaking? I really loved the authors command of words to make me feel as though I truly understood what vincent's 'madness' and creative brilliance must've felt like to him. I feel as though I can begin to understand his art and maybe his person. I did love it.
