What Members Thought
Not a novel, but filled with interesting accounts of Paris in the late 19th century and during the Paris World's fair. Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show, Thomas Edison, artists Gauguin & Whistler, and of course Eiffel himself, in addition to other notorious personalities fill this book with great stories. I can now appreciate the Tower, the term 'an American in Paris' and so many other concepts that I wouldn't have otherwise.
