OMG!!! Ahhhhhh! I can’t believe it! That was....it’s so...., I don’t think.....I just can’t..... *sigh*.
Let me start again....THAT. WAS. INCRDIBLE!
First I have to say....YAY!!! Oh, yes, yes, yes.....Rose and Dimitri got their happily ever after. They ARE TOGTHER!!! It’s one of the best outcomes I’ve ever seen in a book series...ever!
Now that that’s out of the way.....

Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to a brilliant series!! I absolutely loved every minute of these books. Last Sacrifice did not disappoint. There was a clear conclusion to many of the ongoing issues between Rose and the gang (I won't be too specific, I don't want to give anything a way here!), while still giving a sense of change and creating new and interesting plot points that will allow the overarching story of some key characters and the Morio/Dhampire people to continue in the spin-off seri Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to a brilliant series!! I absolutely loved every minute of these books. Last Sacrifice did not disappoint. There was a clear conclusion to many of the ongoing issues between Rose and the gang (I won't be too specific, I don't want to give anything a way here!), while still giving a sense of change and creating new and interesting plot points that will allow the overarching story of some key characters and the Morio/Dhampire people to continue in the spin-off series Mead is currently working on.

I think my favourite part of this series has been Mead's ability to allow you to feel for the characters in a way that seems natural - when Dimitri was restored to his dhampire self but turned Rose down in the previous book, I shared her pain. Similar happy and sad moments occur in this book and there is still that emotional connection to all the characters. I find it be very natural, which is weird because I'm not much for empathy with books. The style of the writing is so smooth and the tone is conversational, which makes me feel as though I know Rose and the group personally. Its not flowery or filled with adjectives and exaggerated feelings to force empathy from the reader. It is positively delightful! I was sad to finish it, not because of a bad ending but because I never wanted this series to end. The promise of spin-off has kept me going! Thanks to Richelle Mead for writing a such an enjoyable series!!

Also some great themes of love and redemption. And is it just me, isn't Abe awesome?

I'm impatiently awaiting this book.

I wonder if Last Sacrifice is referring to the fact that obviously something big/epic/dramatic is going to happen between Strigio and the Morio, but at the end of this Rose and Dimitri finally get it together and the laws of the guardians change, and the Morio learn to fight too. So it would be a last sacrifice in the sense that all their lives guardians have had to sacrifice their own personal lives, but never again...???

If Rose or Dimitri dies I will be so disappointed. ...more

It took me a lot longer to read this than I expected. That’s mainly my fault; the night before it came out I just happened to accidently stumble upon the spoilers for this book. So since I already knew what was going to happen, I wasn’t as eager to dive into this one and read on to the wee hours of the morning.

I think Rose has grown a lot as a person since the first book. She has gone through so much pain and suffering, and in the end it has made her a better person. I love it how she *SPOILERS*

I think Rose has grown a lot as a person since the first book. She has gone through so much pain and suffering, and in the end it has made her a better person. I love it how she always wants to solve everybody’s problems, but of course you can’t please everyone.

During the last half of spirit bound and about the first ¾ of this one, I wanted to smack Dimitri around the side of the head. He loves Rose, Rose loves him. Do you see any reason why they shouldn’t be together? Because I can’t. Why did Dimitri have to be so difficult about it? Well, I guess it made it just that much better when he finally did admit that he still loved Rose, and that he never stopped loving her.
I loved all their little heart to hearts, a few of them nearly moved me to tears, especially the one after Dimitri killed Donavan. This is quite easily my favourite quote:
Dimitri: ‘And you’re with Adrian.’
Rose: ‘But I was made for you.’
Nawwww…. And that is why Rose and Dimitri rank number one on ‘my favourite couples’ list (of course they’re tied with Claire and Shane from the Morganville vampires).

I have officially jumped ships. Screw Dimitri. Adrian who? I can proudly say that I am team Joshua :)) He is the most adorable character (aside from Christian) Who wouldn’t want to marry him? Plus he sounds a LOT like Alex Pettyfer, who as you may know is my future husband. Who knew that Amish vampires could be so cute? :))

Christian hands down is my favourite character, and my heart truly went out to him. Tasha was not on my list of suspects, she wasn’t even in the same room as me with my list. So, I give Richelle some serious kudos for coming up with that one. I would have liked to see more of what happened to Christian after he found out about Tasha, after the shoot out he kinda got shoved to the side, and forgotten about.

Cute guys aside I must say this defiantly wouldn’t be one of my favourite Vampire Academy books, Frostbite still holds that position. (Mason *sniff* *sniff*) Please don’t hunt me down for this, but I must admit that I thought it was pretty dull in places, and my mind easily wandered from this book. It was still a really good book, but Richelle could have done a better job.

Well, of course it was pretty obvious that Jill was Lissa’s half-sister. The one thing I don’t understand about the whole Lissa/Jill thing is: How on earth did they not even suspect Jill being Lissa’s half-sister? Even I figured that one out, and I’m completely hopeless when it comes to who did it mysteries.

The main thing that made me decide to give this book four stars is because of the ending. I didn’t hate the ending, but I really disliked it. There wasn’t enough closure. I want to know what happened to Adrian after Rose broke his heart. Did he finally find ‘the one’? Did he become seriously depressed? Did he even live? And what about Sydney? She is my favourite (non-male) character. I know there is going to be a spin-off series revolving around her (does happy dance), but I would have liked there to be even a small mention to what happened to her.

Over all this is a good ending to the Vampire Academy series. I’m deeply saddened that this is the last book with Rose as the narrator, but it’s not the end. I can’t wait to see if the spin-off series lives up to this one.

Let's get the cover out the way first. I don't have a matching set of VA anyway to this changed didn't really annoy me. At first I wasn't sure about the cover due to it being totally different. However, now that I have seen in person and have seen the rest of the matching covers, I love it. Its so nice and I really like the dripping blood on the top right corner.

I didn't feel like that was a great final book, I felt like it was more of a set up for the spin off series Bloodlines coming Aug 2011. Usually with these books the story has been hooked from the first chapter. However, I found this one very slow and very boring until about half way through then it really did pick up and get really exciting that I couldn't put it down. I had a love/hate relationship with Rose through this book. One minute I understood her and how she a was acting the next I just wanted to slap her for how she was behaving.

Last Sacrifice is all mainly all about Rose and Dimitri and they go on yet another crazy adventure trying to find out secrets and reveal them. As well as with the help of her friends back at court trying to clear her name and find the true Killer of the Queen. (So trying no to give away any details lol) As said above once I got to the halfway mark in the book I was hooked and the story really picked up and was jammed pack with twists and turns you don't see coming. The big one I didn't see was the killer. I found out who killed the Queen before reading and I was in shocked and even though I already knew I still gasped with the killer was revealed. The ending I have to admit I was torn. It really was a great ending, but I was really disappointed as well with some of the decisions made. And it let far to many unanswered questions.

Overall, a really good book for any VA fan. However, not a mind blowing final book. ...more

Last sacrifice was is good?............. Yesssssss
Was it amazing? No.

I have been eagerly anticipating this book for so many months the cliff hanger that is spirit bound left me on such an edge that I was practically counting down the seconds till the final book. I was a bit disappointed after reading it though, it just got far too complicated.

Of all the options Richelle had for Lissa's secret half-sibling, Jill was a pretty mundane choice. It really made prolonging this mystery for half the book rather pointless since virtually everyone knew it was her. The strigoi that turned Dimitri would have been a better choice. As a huge fan of the Vampire Academy series, I was looking forward to this book as it was the last in the series, and I didn't know what to expect. Well, once done, I was blown away. This book had so much going on for Rose and Lissa and Richelle weaved it together perfectly.

I was a little disappointed though, I had prepared myself for a character death and, though I am glad they are all okay, I was kind of sad that the ending had a Cliche feel to it.

This book was.... amazing... but that doesn't even explain it! I loved it so much that I just HAD to read it over! Richelle got everything PERFECT! Love, love it! Rose and Dimitri were destined for each other and I'm glad that they got together in the end :) But... I felt so sad for Adrian!
