I keep putting this off as I'm not a huge dystopian fan but it's a huge favorite with the kids at school so I'm in...

Just finished this, in a restaurant and so glad my friend was late...can't wait for the sequel -- am I really saying that? Very good fantasy novel and very compelling!!!

The author combines science fiction, fantasy and steampunk. Look up steampunk if you are not sure about what it means. While Incarceron might be a person place and thing. Would have given this science fiction book five stars but it borrows concepts and ideas that might prevent it from becoming a classic.
