Kentucky Bluegrass Award nominee. Very quick read. I remember Katrina, and I still learned new information from this book. I think it'll be eye-opening for the teens who read it. The style of the illustrations fit the content perfectly. ...more

The images are clear and portray the horror and celebrations of survival during Hurricane Katrina. Although familiar with the story, this graphic novel allows the reader to see and feel the horror and devastation of the people of New Orleans while focuses on the facts. In addition it provides a great list of resources for anyone seeking more information.
