The first wave took out the power leaving the planet in darkness. With the looming mothership it was clear that they were being invaded but the aliens are nothing like they expected. Instead chaos ensued people took off for the mountains others to Disney if it was the last days on earth. Cassie’s family decided to just stick it out as long as they could but eventually they were forced into the woods like the others. After losing her mother to the plague that spread across the planet it was just

This book has been popping up all over the place lately for me, so I decided to check it out. I think I read the Goodreads description of the book on two separate occasions without really being convinced to pick up the book. It sounded like stuff I have read many times before, just with aliens instead of some fantasy creature, so I decided not to read this book. But then it kept on showing up and when one of the book clubs I'm a member of here on Goodreads chose it as this months book, I thought

Not only did I read and review this book for my own enjoyment, but this book is formally reviewed for my English class.
Although there were great themes throughout the story and the first 130 pages were very suspenseful and riveting, the new apocalyptic alien book, The 5th Wave, was a huge disappointment. Maybe it’s because I’ve read so many dystopian/survival type of books like this, but this story was at many times boring, slow paced, cliché, over dramatic, and repetitive. I was so excited to s

Recently, I've had a tough time liking the characters in YA books, especially female protagonists, but I actually liked Cassie as well as the majority of the other characters.

It got me hooked from the first few pages and I just flew through it. If you're a fan of apocalypse-type books or just YA in general, you should definitely give this a go. ...more

This book was the most different book I have read in a while. It was about aliens! Although there were some twist in there. That is the point. Aliens have taken over. You just don't read that very often maybe it will be the next big thing alien books. And I hear a movie might come out which would be freaky. This was a creepy book for me at first. The chapters are very short so you can keep up. Its a thick book but it flew by. I got right into and fell in love with the main character(s). I am uns

Love it when I find books with a heroine with my name...Maybe that's a little egotistical, but it's still fun :D
