This is one of the best dystopias I've read in a very long time. The characters are well fleshed out and the subtle coming of minds is not forced but logical. The love story aspect is sweet and realistic. Rossi does an excellent job of describing a world that is no longer safe for human habitation. The "smart" ones entered pods generations ago that were self-contained. Small, yes, but the holographics more than make up for the lack of space. There is always food to eat, air to breathe, and enter

So, let me start this review with the basics: the world. (Wow, I never knew the whole freaking world was basic, right? Well it is now.) In Under the Never Sky, the world is not how we know it now, nor has it been for a very long time. There are deadly electrical energy storms that plague the earth, called aether storms.
Imagine that, but apparently blue/purple.
Humanity, doing what it does best, found a way to beat mother nature and holed itself up in little pods, then created a virtual reality ca ...more

This story follows 2 characters in their respective POV’s. Aria is a Dweller and she wears a eyepiece that allows her to escape to the Realms (like a virtual world in a game) through this device while being trapped in her Pod (a city protected with walls) from the Outsiders – that’s Perry (“Peregrine”), brother of a Blood Lord of the Tides (a Village). Perry is a Scire – allows him to sense other people’s tempers but not his own or family’s (moods) – and a Seer (clear night vision). They help ea

This is a difficult book for me to review. There were parts i liked and parts i didn't. This is the first Dystopian book i have read, having not been interested in the genre. I didn't realise this book was about that.
Aria is a young girl that gets pulled into a situation that she thinks will help her mission, but actually it's a horrible experience that gets her exiled from where she lives. Having thought that being in the Pods where she lives is the only ...more

I only hate that I didn't read this one sooner! This book gripped me from the beginning, I just really enjoyed reading this story and didn't want it to end. Aria finds out how strong and determined she really is throughout this book. Roar and Perry and other secondary characters are well developed. I wasn't ready for this book to end! So glad I have the second book already :).

Now I must get my hands on the rest of this series. Seriously.
