Nautical adventure is not usually my thing, but I really liked Jacky. She is honest and relatable and just girly enough. The story does get a bit graphic in parts, and emotional in parts, but the author handles it brilliantly, including the inevitable puberty questions. I would hesitate to say that it was Alanna at sea, especially because I liked Jacky more.

This book was recommended to me by GR friends to listen to on audio and WOW, they were right on! The amazing narrator brought this tale of a cheeky orphan to life. I loved every minute of it!
