What Members Thought
Although I've only given this book 2 starts this is not to say that it wasn't a good read. It just wasn't my kind of book. This new take on the Cinderella story are similar only on the aspect of Ash having an 'evil' step mother, and that she is left on her own to find her path. There isn't a fairy God-Mother BUT there is a fairy in the mix. One that seeks to have Ash by his side. I wanted to love this book. I'd heard good things about it. Fairy tale retelling with f/f romance? Sign me up. Luckily, I didn't go into this one with the high expectations I had when I tried Huntress, so the reading experience was less fraught (I didn't finish Huntress). There's just a lack of tension in these books for me. Ash dealt with her problem and all I could think was, that's it? That easy? The romance is nice, Kaisa is nice, but same story - I didn't feel much in the way of tension. It
