I liked this novel a lot more than I thought I would! I was worried it may be over-hyped and it does have some pretty bad reviews but I just clicked with it in every way. I loved Ender and all his crazy emotions. He felt real to me...maybe not the age he was suppose to be but a young kid nevertheless. I loved this book!! All the way through you're wondering what is going on, feeling sorry for Ender, and the pace builds. So good. I need to re-read it, I think.

What is most amazing about this book, is how accurately it describes the gaming culture, the brutality of children, and the untapped resource of youth. Some genius and innovation is there before puberty. We often discuss how strange it is that kids can't do in high school, things they did masterfully in elementary school. It's a mystery. Powerful book. I'm particularly fond of the denouement.

DNF. Guys, I tried. I really did. And I may give this a chance...eventually. I'm over 100 pages in and just feeling meh. I can see why people like it and it's thought provoking, but.....not really doing it for me. Full review to come. Because I didn't finish the book because I loathed it, I won't rate this one.
