This book was initially hard to get into because of the stream of consciousness style of writing, but it didn't take me long to get past that. Not far in I was already wondering what was going on and what was going to happen. Although there were a few things I guessed, the twists and turns were dramatic and intense, and I don't feel like any of the big moments were gratuitous. The baddie you see most of was genuinely horrifying, and the final scenes went hell for leather until the end ...more

The reason behind this love... are several and scattered. First off, I am going to say I Loved Manchee !! "Poop Todd!" I mean who wouldn't adore

This book is really hard to explain what was so touching about it. There is a lot of action, swearing and yelling yet I still found myself crying at one point in the book.
I enjoyed watching Todd, the main character, grow throughout the book in various ways. It was very touching to see his relationships grow as he gained more knowledge. But mainly this was an action filled book that I enjoyed. Although my favorite character was the dog, Manchee by far.

Was honestly sooooo disappointed with this book. Maybe my expectations were too high going in because I've heard nothing but good things for years but halfway through I found myself wondering when it was going to get better. I did like the second half of the book better but not enough to give more than a three star rating. I didn't find the world in this book to be all that interesting or even believable. This book has the almost typical dystopian plot that I used to read late 00's to early 10's but on space.
The story starts with a town where no man can keep a secret and no women at all, Todd is a boy that's trying to prove himself to become a man. The story picks up after a girl shows up an announced one day.
