After hearing the CHAOS WALKING trilogy is being made into a film series by Lionsgate (of HUNGER GAMES movie fame), I downloaded this first volume, THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO, onto my Kindle and I'm glad I did!

The story revolves around Todd Hewitt, the youngest (and only) child in the all-male colony of Prentisstown, settlers from Old World that have traveled to another planet known as New World to begin a better life. But something has gone wrong. A mysterious germ has killed all the women a

I 'effing' Yes, I did indeed say what you think I said. LOVED this book!

The reason behind this love... are several and scattered. First off, I am going to say I Loved Manchee !! "Poop Todd!" I mean who wouldn't adore (I need to change the wording a little so yah french!) a taking dog????? (besides Todd himself?)

Full review here.

My expectations for this book was basically none. I just knew that this book has high ratings so I picked it up. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the story. The main character, Todd, was very likeable. The way the author, Patrick Ness, wrote him was something new to me. Since his thoughts were always exposed, his ramblings made me feel like I was getting to know a new friend, where there were no pretenses. Just unadulterated honesty. The world building was laid out

This book is really hard to explain what was so touching about it. There is a lot of action, swearing and yelling yet I still found myself crying at one point in the book.

I enjoyed watching Todd, the main character, grow throughout the book in various ways. It was very touching to see his relationships grow as he gained more knowledge. But mainly this was an action filled book that I enjoyed. Although my favorite character was the dog, Manchee by far.
