My expectations for this book was basically none. I just knew that this book has high ratings so I picked it up. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the story. The main character, Todd, was very likeable. The way the author, Patrick Ness, wrote him was something new to me. Since his thoughts were always exposed, his ramblings made me feel like I was getting to know a new friend, where there were no pretenses. Just unadulterated honesty.
