Ahh that was so good and blew me away! I loved the characters and the romance (Po is so swoon-worthy). Also, the feminism bits were a nice touch. Can't wait to dive into the rest of this series ...more

It is an amazing book! It has an original concept which is a good break from reading about vampires, werewolves, angels, and fairies (my present addiction). It is a cocktail of courage, power, humility, protectiveness, self-preservation, and LOVE-love-love! It is not bland--it has a fruity flavor (:P). It is so entertaining and unpredictable. It is a novel that teaches one not to overuse power for evil. It is a novel that reminds its readers that ones talent is not to be buried but to be enhance ...more

This is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I really enjoyed this story by the end, as the world and characters were fleshed out more. It was still written in a very simple way, so it seemed like it was for young readers, but the few sex scenes (including a deflowering) made me wonder about that. The many-monthed journey didn't seem quite as long, but you have to remember that it's a society where the fastest transportation is by horse or ship.

The supernatural powers in this world were quite well t

If you're looking for a book with Medieval setting, then this one's perfect for you. Imagine this-- kings and queens, princes and princesses, castles, horses, swords, and the new concept which Kristin Cashore created-- Grace.

Graceling is the first book that I've read which has a Medieval setting, and I loved every part of it. Agan, I'm amazed whenever the heroine is so much stronger than the leading man. In this story, Katsa, Graced in killing, met Prince Po who was also Graced. And from there,

Up until about had way through, or a little more, I would have given it 5. Then the random, awkward, weird romance started. Super unnecessary and awkward to read. Then she starts going on and on about how she loves him but won't marry him. Again, not necessary, annoying, and has nothing to do with the plot. Then I got to the last couple chapters and I had to take off another star. It dragged on and on, there's a sex scene (again super awkward and does nothing for the plot), and then it dragged o ...more

I loved this book. I loved that Katsa has a Grace that isnt cooking or sewing, but survival. She kills people, but she is still lovable and she isnt a monster. I loved that she is the heroine, and not Po. I dont know how I feel about the ending, how things ended with Po.
