I highly enjoyed this book. It was a bit slow going at first, but once I really got into it, the books pace sped up and the story was thrilling. Cashore creates an entirely different world that is intriguing and yet also somewhat familiar in ways, in that the feeling of being unique or different is felt throughout the world in any type of setting, and most of us struggle with that feeling at some point in our lives.

originally I read this book in 2010 but it was so good I had to read it again. I loved it just as much as I did the first time!
