I'm not exactly thrilled to be writing this review. Books 1 and 2 were so good...and then there was book 3. Mockingjay.
Mockingjay is the third and final book in the Hunger Games trilogy. Once again, as I set out to read it (just as I did when I set out to read Catching Fire), I had expectations of what could not be accomplished with the story. That's what happens to me when I've read a good book in a series. I think, there is no way the author will top that. Sometimes, to my delight, I'm proven ...more

I don't really know what I can say about this book that hasn't been said already. It was very good... but there were parts of it that I didn't like. It was like... I liked where the author was going... but I didn't like how we went there. I'm still very much looking forward to seeing the movie. ...more

I have to start off with the fact that this series was amazing and it kept me on total edge the whole time. Collins is an extremely gifted author with an amazing imagination. I can only imagine that writing Dystopian can be extremely difficult when you have to make up a whole new way of life and then describe it in words.
As for why I gave it a 4 and not a 5 like the first two books: I felt like I lost a lot of who Katniss was in this book. She seemed a lot more wishy washy. The ending was prett ...more

Although my favorite will remain Catching Fire, Mockingjay was the best book out of the entire series. After careful reflection of what happened within this final book, I don't understand why a majority of people say it was the worst. All loose ties (or ties that were actually important to the plot)were knotted and we get to know what happens to all the main characters.
The fact that so many characters seemingly died for no important reason (view spoiler) pi ...more
I was left with the thought... Everyone needs a Peeta, and when you have, don't flip flop around. Hold on tight.

Not what I expected. I was still entrigued into finding out what happens. Still a good book. Can't believe its over.

Weird ending does anyone know how Kat's sister Prim gets to where she is at the end of the book. It is a sad ending as well since she dies. I liked the first 2 books better and can't wait to see the movie for the first book.
