Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) in YA and Beyond

Thinking about the popular quote "don't judge a book by its cover", I am now totally sure it's absolutely true. You see the light blue color of this cover and imagine, it means things go back to being peaceful and calm, and everything is happiness and no more pain, no more deaths, no more torture, nothing goes wrong again, the world simply becomes perfect, what it should be. Reality is this book is full of violence, death, torture, it becomes really disturbing sometimes.

I seriously thought i wouldn't like it because it was going to be a happy book where the main focus would be on Katniss deciding with who she wants to stay, Peeta or Gale. I have a problem with that situation, some people say Gale is great and he's been with her longer. But really, they were friends!. I hate it when in books you have that situation, there is a girl who has a male friend and then they start being in love. It's like, if there couldn't be a friendship, pure friendship, without kissing or someone crushing over the other, when they have different sexes. That ~~stupid~~ love triangle didn't have to exist at all. (view spoiler) I remember i was mad when in Catching Fire Katniss kissed Gale. Oh well, moving on with the review.

I don't want to spoil anything, so i won't say what this book is about, i will only say if you want to know how everything ends up you should read this last book.

There were some tough moments, death of some important characters, at least important to me, that i couldn't believe (view spoiler). Everything seemed out of control, it was difficult at times to see some traumatic disorders the characters had, and was hard to accept all of the situations happening.

What i didn't like much is the whole mockingjay thing. Maybe people are really too easy to manipulate, but I'm not sure if seeing someone do an act of rebellion would make him or her in a symbol, and as a symbol make her simple presence a great force.

I liked this book, and liked the ending of situations going on there, some were also unexpected. But in the epilogue , i don't know, there was something that didn't much satisfy me, not sure what is it, but that's the feeling i have.

This book is actually great! The only part i don't like is about Prim. When i realized what happened, i cried. Towards the end the book got sadder and sadder with all the deaths that kept occurring. But i don't know why people don't like this book so much. I guess they don't like the book on the ending. Yes the ending with Prim and everything was sad but i'm happy that Katnis ended up with Peeta in the end. I didn't know i was team Peeta until this book. But overall i loved it. I have to start off saying that I love the book series but with that said this one was not my favorite. I felt that everything was just put together saying I give up I'm sick of wright about this I just want it to end. Katniss is a waste of a character no longer strong and just annoying at this point and the same goes for Gale. By the end of the book I just didn't care anymore becouse it seemed rushed and blah. ...more
