Unbelievably beautiful, well written, intense story. Great detail, heartbreaking and triumphant. I love Katnis, her family, Peter, the goat and the ugly cat - fantastic. The games, everything is just so well done.
I had put it off reading it because of the mixed reviews. I have a rule about not seeing a movie without reading the book first. I really wanted to see the movie and stay true to my rule. I am glad I did. I really loved this book! My daughter had borrowed my hardcover. I was pleased that one of my Nook friends had a copy to lend! Now to buy a movie ticket and read the rest of the series before the next movies come out!
This was a wonderful novel. It reminded me of "The Most Dangerous Game". The characters were so vivid and real in my mind and the action never disappointed. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
The only issue I had was that the main character, with all of her knowledge of survival and hunting, can't see the repeated signs that Peeta is really in love with her. This minor fact did not seem realistic. ...more
