This is a very exciting book. I started it yesterday and finished it today I could not put it down. It takes place in a future world where there are only 12 "districts" on North America where people live and are very controlled. Each district is very different and the the citizens in them have no contact with each other. The main character Catniss a teenage girl lives a fairly simple life in District 12 trying to keep her mother and sister fed by hunting. She has made a good friend and hunting p ...more

It was GREAT!!! I loved it, and I can't wait to read the second!! Peeta being in love was so... so awwwww, I really really loved the book. Yet I knew he wasn't acting and I can't believe Katniss was so dense. Love triangle, aaaaah. Gale is perfect for her yet Peeta totally cares for her. I personally like Peeta better.

I think the Hunger Games in the story should be eliminated cause, what the heck?? And why yearly? Why not every 2 years or something. I think it's dumb. Also the rule of not being

I'm not sure what it is about this book exactly that made me LOVE it but I read it in four hours and my heart was fluttering in my chest to reach the finale. It felt so natural to enter Katniss' reality... I could taste the musky remnants of coal as it fought its way to the surface of the mine shaft. I could feel the gaunt tug of hunger in my ribs as Katniss watched the boy with the bread with invisible eyes. I could literally experience the rush of adrenaline when Prim's name was announced and ...more

Wow. And this took me so long to read because...

What a fantastic book! I've slowly been introducing myself into the Dystopian society books and I really wish this would have been read before Matched. I loved this book and can say, I'm Team Peeta all the way. I knew nothing going into this other than these kids were there to play the hunger games. I was so worried about one, or both of them dying. Now, I'm anxious to read the rest of the series to find out how it all turns out!

I won't write a summary for this book because there's a fine one under the book title but I will give my thoughts. I L O V E this book!!!!!

Katniss is such an independent girl and a great hero for the girls of Panem and her world. She is strong, courageous and loves her friends and family dearly. She starts the 'game' not expecting to come out alive but wants to do all she can to make it back to her sister Prim who sees Katniss as almost a mother figure.

Suzanne Collins world is AMAZING. There are
