I’ve read this book a gazillion times. I just finished... Again. And again, I still love it just as much as I did the first time.
I picked up Collins’ newest book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and enjoyed being back in Panem, so decided I needed Katniss and Peeta back. The Hunger Games trilogy is one of my comfort reads.
I’m a fan of dystopian books. And THG is among the best of this genre, for me.

Similar to my friend Arushi on here, I had no desire to read this book whatsoever when I first saw it. And then, just like Arushi, it was everywhere. I put off reading it until almost the entire known world had read every book, because I was so afraid of ruining the experience by not reading it to my fullest. There are times when the sheepy decisions of the masses make you shake your head and wish that you had moved to Costa Rica. Those times include the 'Whoomp, there it is!' years, IMHO. I loved it. I wasn't so skeptical about it at first. Until I noticed I had a few days to finish reading it 'tll the movie comes out. Picking up the second book soon. I recommend it.
