I adore this novel. When I was in high school, I loved watching an anime Hunter X Hunter. It had some similarities with Panem's yearly hunger games. In Hunter X, group of players killed each other to be proclaimed victors of the world's largest auctioned video game.
I was totally engrossed when the hunger games started. The arena was like an abattoir. Personally, i abhor killings. I am faint-hearted. But in support of Katniss' survival and Peeta's real love for her, I would surely behead the othe ...more

What a gripping story Mrs. Collins wrote. I loved the book and couldn't wait to read the next. Not what I expected what a roller coaster ride of emotions.

OMG....couldn't put it down. Literally. One of only a couple books that I stayed up ALL night to read. As for the kiddos..they LOVE it just as much as I.

Just finished re-reading it, it still made me squeal with excitement! Peeta, I missed you so!
First read:
Deserves more than these 5 orange stars! I give it 10 shiny golden ones haha :)) I absolutely LOVED it! I never read something like this before, and I found myself going back to the scenes in my head and relieving the thrilling moments! This book should be in the number spot in the recommendation shelf, everybody should know this great read. Way to go Katniss and Peeta!

A wonderful book one for a wonderful series to come. Enough to even make it into a movie (hoping the movie won't disappoint as much as the other ya books-movies did)... it's action packed with a little romance and the mish-mash of all things politics... It's a wonderful read and the violence, although subtle as it may go, its a s violent as we want it to be... perfect in a sense.
