Fifty years ago, "Visitors" began appearing in London as ghosts. Lucy Carylyle joins forces with Anthony Lockwood and George Cubbins at their ghostbusting agency. When they accidentally burn down a house during a case, they discover a hidden locket. Shortly afterwards, they are asked to investigate one of the most famous hauntings in the city, Combe Carey Hall, with its infamous Screaming Staricase and Red Room.

I really loved this book. I have always enjoyed mysteries and creepy books, so this was really right up my alley. The three main characters and their relationships with one another was what pushed it from 4 to 5 stars for me. I loved George, Lucy and especially Lockwood. He was similar to Sherlock Holmes but was different enough that I didn't feel that he was a rip-off.

Solid 3.5 star read. I liked the main protagonists and the unique premise of this book. I found at some times it dragged or lost me but I was always able to return to the story fairly quickly so perhaps it was me and not the book. I listened to this one on audio and liked the narration. All in all a good read.
4.5-5 stars

Our heroes are a ragtag trio of teens who make up a small but tenacious psychic investigation agency. Their personalities and interactions were well-written and vivid, and there were a few genuine laughs thrown in along the way.

Screams of excitement as I REALLY LOVE this book* I don't remember when was the last time I read a book with ghosts in English. I always read my horror in Arabic so I can get to the mood but this one scared me like a baby. I could not sleep with the lights off. Thanks to Mr Stroud we have now an alternative London with all the joy adding ghosts wondering at the night making lives way interesting for ghost hunting agencies and scary for the rest of the world.
