Okay, I went into this mostly because of the cover and because I like Rachel Hawkins. I typically don't like Southern settings and I was also wary of perfect female lead Harper. But I was so wrong. This book is funny. From the moment Harper ends up with powers and kills someone with her high-heeled shoe, I was excited.

This book felt like it was trying too hard and didn't manage to get anything right. It had nothing spectacular about it and nothing memorable. Too bad, because it had such potential.
