Brilliant! Steinbeck is a master! I loved this and his other works in high school, but haven’t read then since then, so I was glad to see they were as great as I remember. I can’t wait to read more!
Excellent writing. One of those rare books that is both a great classic and an easy read. I liked that great span of time and the interaction between history of the world and the characters.
It is funny how Gone with the Wind has some almost identical lines about one American/southerners being so much better or braver that he could beat 10 enemies.
