This has been a wild ride and not for the faint of heart. It’s a marathon, and it feels like it doesn’t need to be.
There is an incredible amount of depth in this book, and Tolstoy’s ability to convey complex emotions is perplexing. Reading this book reminded me of old relationships, past behaviours and thoughts I’ve had, and woke many an emotion in me. I guess that qualifies this book as a work of art according to Tolstoy’s own definition (a not so subtle “What is Art” reference...).
