Someone said this book is not YA so I was trying to check it to see how it is rated. To me it is Sci Fi and I enjoyed it except I got claustrophobic with too many dark small caves. I was very surprised that it made me cry. Imagine, I cried for a parasite!!!
Now I see this is YA! Things change!
I did not read a kindle but I got a nice hardback for Christmas and I read it. Goodreads always says I read an ebook but I almost never do.

WOW! This is a MUST READ Sci-fi thriller. The Host is amazing. Riveting and engrossing, making my heart beat fast as I race through the pages, not wanting to put it down until I had turned the last page. Needless to say, this is a long book, so I didn't make it. But, I picked it up first thing in the morning and began reading while waiting for my cup of coffee.

I think part of the problem was the concept; I found the idea of a parasitic creature being inserted into a human body very off-putting. However, once I had got over the initial revulsion, I began to enjoy the story and ultimately found it both moving and compelling.

Ah, here we are. The Host hurt me so bad. I am one of the biggest Twilight fans you will ever meet (*sets down my six copies of New Moon*), but I just could not stand The Host. I hated the way it was written and contrary to what some other people have said, it does not feel the same as Twilight at all. I just could not get on board with this one. Sorry Stephenie :(
