the heart wrenching romance aside, the portrayal of both sides of the conflict was one of the most balanced that I have read in a fictional romance novel. It wasn't something I was looking for when I picked up this novel and I felt only sadness at the resolution of the book, as in it I felt the echo's of the conflicts of today.

This book was everything I expected, and then some. Very emotional and thought-provoking.

Not a time for 'navel gazers' or those in denial with the true nature of humans. I guess this one is for 'mature audiences' only.

Probably because I am used to Ms. Anderson's characters falling in love and admitting it early on in the books. Our H/H just struggle throughout this book. How many times did Loretta really have to leave? I w

I really liked this book. I donno if it's because I didn't come across historical romance with indians so it had something new in it for me or because it was just that good. Probably both =]
