Okay. I've been needling between 3 and 4 stars for this book that may well be my least favourite of John Green's books. Pudge was a likeable character and all, and I'm sure I must have been Pudge in earlier years, however,Pudge, Takumi, Lara and The Colonel remind me of a tamer version of Skins. Self-destructive beahviour fed by even more self-destructive behaviour.

I really loved this book. I did. I loved the dirty, gritty, messed up, gorgeous Alaska. It was definitely for a mature audience, and I recommend reading the Fault in Our Stars first (it was funnier), but this was a great John Green book too.

Bitter-sweet, philosophical and utterly brilliant!A deeply personal book that will remain with me forever. I am officially a fan of John Green's writing.

Liked this a lot better, this time round. So much so I'm upping my rating. I still don't really "get" Alaska and Miles, but I enjoy the other characters so much that it doesn't really matter.

Eh. I float between three and four for this. The writing was beautiful, and Alaska's behaviour seemed totally spot on for someone (view spoiler) but she was also annoying as all get out. Miles was just okay. The Colonel was easil ...more

I've heard a lot of good thins about this book, and after reading it.. Well, it was good but it also made me sad and probably wanting more? I was honestly hoping that everything was a prank, that she's alive and they'll end up together, but I guess that's the whole point of the book - the "What Ifs".
