I grew up in a stable, safe, loving home. Sam's story revealed to me just how privileged I was.
Author Jenn Reese broke my heart over and over with this book, and she is such a great storyteller, found myself actually talking to the book—to the heroine Sam, to the squirrels who accompany her adventure, and also to the fox who... well, I didn't want to talk to the fox as much as I wanted to punch him.
