This was a creepy but good surprise! I wasn't at all sure what to expect, but as it happens my one of favorite 'Spook' books is 'Grimalkin', so I was curious to see what a book without Tom as the central character would be like. Slither is a strange creature, neither wholly evil not good. I wish Delaney would write a sequel to his story, because it was a great read and I liked the different characters(for the most part) and Grimalkin makes a significant appearance too. Overall, if you are fans o

Spook's Slither is the 11th book in Joseph Delaney's Wardstone Chronicles. It follows a Haizda Mage named Slither.
Slither's Tale does not particularly have a strong connection to the on going series other than it features one of the main characters in the form of Grimalkin. Nonetheless I find this a swift and a very entertaining read. It features monsters, assassins, mages and a whole lot amount of action involving decapitations, blood drinking and other nasty doings. I read this skeptical of how a random character popping in near the ending can be cheap because it feels like a big filler (which it mostly is) but I enjoyed the interaction that felt like how Beauty and the Beast should be like in essence. The way the story got linked to the main series was also very nice, I hope we see more of this in the future books and not left away as just a filler that never shows come back into the series...

I really loved the poetry-structure of the last part, but I must be honest, and I was expecting to read about something more connected with Tom's story, even if I love Grimalkin and her Adventures ❤

This is the next big series since Harry Potter. I just couldn't put down the books. Now I'm anxiously waiting for book 13.

I listened to the audio book and the new narrator kind of ruined it for me. Christopher Evan Welch brings the characters to life. Each have a unique voice. The other is a slow, monotone drone and all the characters sound pretty much the same.
The story itself was ok. It was a bit outside the normal storyline, though it ties back in at the end. Maybe something in the next books will call back to this story because it seemed out of place in the context of the rest of the series.
