In this first installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series we are introduced to our main character, Sookie Stackhouse. Sookie is a waitress in a bar, living in a small town in Louisiana, Bon Temps, there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about her life, except for her "disability". She can read minds.

Now, I thought that was funny, saying that reading minds is a disability. But other than her "disability" there wasn't really anything exciting about here life until Bill Compton, Vampire, walked i

A great start to a new series which I think I am going to enjoy very much. I watched the television show first but it didn't make the book any less interesting. The TV show was so different in ways that the book stayed interesting! I really liked Sookie and Bill! The authors style of writing was a nice change and I am excited to get on to the next one.

I read the back of the third book CLUB DEAD and that one sounds really good but we shall see!!! ...more

It's the story about the "gifted" waitress Sookie that befriends a Vampire, in a world where vampires are acknowledged legally and are living among humans trying to "mainstream" that is to blend in with them.
She encounters some adventures, some deaths and a lot of fun..

It was a fast fun read that put a smile on my face, well actually made me grin like an idiot in a room fun of people.. I loved it and will be continuing the series as soon as I can.
