Upon reading 'The Lighning Thief', which was suggested many a time, by many of my friends and teachers including, Micheal Lister *smiles* I found it overly facinating. I have always been into the whole Gods and Goddesses, Titans and Olympians.
My 9th grade english teacher, Ms. Faris, I can thank for that. Our whole grade did a section on 'Greek mythology'. I had learned tons of things from her so I was well prepared for this book.

At first I didn't like this book at all. I felt that it was a Harry Potter ripoff. However, the more I read, the more I liked it. The Greek deity references are wonderful! I was surprised at how familiar my son is with the names of the gods in the book. We're looking forward to the rest of the series.
