This was an enjoyable book. I've never been a huge fan of Obi-Wan Kenobi but this book about him was well done. I think the majority of the book was told from the point of views of the other characters. I found this an interesting approach, especially if it was intentional, because Obi-Wan has classically stated that the truth depends on a "certain point of view". It is written as a bit of a western but that fits the desert/settler landscape of Tatooine. It starts to show how Obi-Wan came to be ...more

Great exploration of the transition from Obi-Wan to Ben Kenobi. Draws on a lot of the traditions of Westerns to tell a unique story of life on the Star Wars frontier, where average, ordinary people oblivious to the "big picture" events in the Star Wars galaxy deal with their own problems.
