What Members Thought

The author took on a huge undertaking doing the genesis for the Jedi, and though he made the story interesting and I really enjoyed the character progression I feel that it was very lacking in the genesis. Everything that we know and love about the Jedi order is in place within a force using tribe of humans, sith, twilecks, and other species that made a sleeper craft journey to Tython before known hyperspace travel. It was fun to read a book that utilized swords and rudimentary weaponry in the S

I felt like this book was rather weak at the start and it was only ok in the middle but i thought the ending was really good however for a very long time in this book i was kinda routing for the antagonist until the end when i thought the protagonist was actually aware of what was going on. I also felt that some character development was rushed and done poorly. But overall i do think this book deserves a 3 star rating because of the ending and action parts.

I am quite unsatisfied with this novel. I love Star Wars novels of this kind but never have I expressed utter disappointment in such a stale book.
The shifting of character views are overwhelming, you can't tell whether Lanoree's present or past are basically major flashbacks or things happening as is. It leaves you in confusion.

although i love star wars i never got into the books until much later and needless to say that i was hooked. this novel is probably one of the best ones that came out recently from the star wars books and it will please fans old and new. the story is typical fro a star wars novel but the protagonist is excellent, too bad that the supporting cast is pretty dull in my opinion. if you love star wars read it but if you are new better start from another book and get on from there.
