This book introduced a lot of new subplots and action that either sprang out of nowhere or keyed off single lines from the final chapters of the previous book.
The familiar characters that had been treated relatively okay through the series are made into complete fools by the most pivotal parts of this story, which again come relatively out of nowhere.
I may continue listening to the end of the series to see how it's executed, but frankly the Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi stories have b ...more

Good entry into the series, all the story lines are picking up and starting to come together here.
Ben and Vestara have a good story going, and I knew the end of this book was coming unfortuneately.
Looking forward to the last book Apocalypse. Just picked it up and can't wait to see how things turn out. ...more

Vestara in this book has to make some big decisions fast, especially when confronted by her father Gavar Khai. I reall ...more

I'm still not enjoying the Abeloth side of the story, and now the Sith storyline is intertwined with hers. The only aspect I really enjoyed is the Hedi/Empire/GA story. I htink Vestar's choice she made in the cave was weak, she was finally turning down an admittedly predictable path, but it was at least well written up until that point.
And Aboleth's sudden need to be in charge, right now, also came across as a little week too.
I guess a really would give it 3.5 stars. ...more
