I seldom dole out 5 star ratings for books. It has to be life-changing for that. (Dandelion Wine, anyone?) But since I'm grading this on a "star wars EU novel" scale, the 5 star rating is appropriate.
I've logged my share of SW novels but this certainly has to be the BEST I've ever read. Is it junk? Of course it is. As I always contend, SW novels are merely Avon Romance pulp for nerds.

Perhaps it was just because I was relatively disappointed in Fatal Alliance, but I picked up Deceived and was almost ready to be let down. I wasn't.
Paul S. Kemp is quite a good author, and maybe I should have gotten myself ready to be wowed just from that. The book started out much like most Star Wars books, and got moving really quickly. An excellent take on the point-of-view of various characters and their relation to their governing organizations. Makes me want to play a Sith in the upcoming MMO.
