Probably Stackpole’s weakest novel (at least for me, to date), but it is also one of his best- for tying up loose ends, inciting a very nice twist in the midst of it all, and with gusto.
As usual, the dialogue soars. There is always strength and emphasis on how the characters talk and present themselves, and that’s one of the nice parts of the novel.
