What Members Thought
Of all books in the X-Wing series, this one is my favorite. 4.5 to 5 Stars from me! Coming from a continuity that nowadays categorized as non-canon (Star Wars Legends), the story of this book is good and decent enough to have a stand-alone movie like Rogue One : The Star Wars Story in my opinion.

Didn’t Enjoy
These X-Wing stories just really haven’t captured me. I feel like they try too hard to be spy missions and I just want to read a sort of “Top Gun-planes in space” style mission. We got some of that in the end but I hope we get a worthy story soon.

I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did, considering Aaron Allston had big shoes to fill. Michael Stackpole’s first four X-Wing books were enjoyable starfighting fun, and what gives now when you’re introduced to a new ragtag bunch of pilots?
You get to meet every single one of them, know about them more and appreciate the whole shebang with how well-written, pick-up-the-pace type of action you’d get just so.

The audio version was excellent with interesting characters and tons of action. It was a better listening experience and hopefully we will get more Legends full audio books.
