i loved the confliction between vader and his former self. you can see throughout the book him starting to become more and more of a vader. the wanting to forget who he was before. just brilliant.
This book really describes the final transition from Anakin to Vader. You still sense that, like Padme believed, there is still good in him. He is wrestling with himself. But he finally chooses to suppress it under the new black armor of his. And his obsession with hunting down the Jedi could be a reflection of him wanting to forget who he was before.
