Children of the Jedi is a novel I'd really like to say is not an essential read for anyone looking to get into Star Wars books. In fact, the novel is severely lacking the excitement that is Star Wars.
I once received this book years back as a gift and after reading it through I was blown away of how bizarre, out of place and drab this story was.

I honestly hated this book. I love Star Wars and even the more disappointing novels had something likable to it. I mean Crucible had one weird storyline the the Star Wars EU could have been better off without but this one was a whole new low. This story was unnecessary, the Luke and Callista thing was rushed and weird. Thank the maker they later put him with Mara Jade.

I rated this book a 1.5/5, given that I was intrigued at the story, but I despise how cluttered it was written, from the beginning to the end.
Plot, pacing and characterization felt chucked out of the window, and nothing ever felt like it was written for the bigger front of Star Wars here- it felt so confined in building sceneries that it strayed so far away from ever delivering its premise.
And even til now, my head hurts trying to comprehend the point of most of the decisions made in the novel.
