I want to rate this higher, I really do. It's freakin' STAR WARS.
As a book, however...this is better than Empire but worse than A New Hope. It does sort of include an explanation as to Lando's suddenly becoming a General, but not much more happens than what you see.
The most important thing, however, is that you can tell that they have no idea what kind of universe is being created. This book is from 1983. That means another 8 years before Heir to the ...more

3.5 stars. While sometimes a bit stilted, there were also MANY beautiful and insightful sentences in this book (I would say it is the best of the OT novelizations). And I will always find Luke saving his father to be moving and it most certainly was here <3
