Following in my Anne Stuart obsession, I find myself back with the Rohans. This time we know for sure we are reading about Adrian's kids. Did I mention that Adrian is mine? Just making sure.

Oh boy, I can't believe I gave Anne Stuart's book's just 1 star~~
Don't get me wrong, I love most of her tortured heroes
But Lucien.. I dunno, It's hard for me to fall for him (or like him even)
he's more ruthless than previous heroes in the series
he's cruel and such an asshole
I don't see him act like he's in love, the way he treated Miranda is way beyond me, I hate him!! I HATE HIM!!!
And what I don't get is how Miranda is stupid enough to forgive such an asshole like him

Secondary characters have their on book in this one. Ugh. I hate it when secondary characters take up half the book. Over all it was nicely written, which is a major plus these days, and I enjoyed the banter between the h/h. The hero was cruel but not so cruel that I hated him. I did finish reading it, even though I skipped all the pages about Jane. I really enjoyed it when the heroine finally, finally whacks him one.
Another good one from Anne Stuart, she is becoming my go to author when I just need a good angsty read. =)

Dark controlling hero, spirited, saucy protagonist; A recipe for romance? But of course! An often amusing, definitely riveting tale a la Beauty and the Beast, or perhaps Phantom of the Opera. I like the fact the the characters were described as ordinary, or at least thought themselves of average looks. Breathless, book 3 of the House of Rohan trilogy, just may be the darkest novel I've ever read. There were times while reading this book that I got chills (and they definitely weren't the good ones). This book is not for the faint at heart. Anne Stuart's heroes are dark...but Lucien is borderline "evil". He is somewhat "reformed" by the end, but he is still a long way from "good" when you turn the last page.
